10 Misconceptions Your Boss Holds About Small Double Buggy

A Small Double Buggy That's Easy to Push One-Handed and Carry Up and Down Stairs

This is the double stroller you need if you want a lightweight one-hand stroller that is easy to push. It's also simple to carry up and down the stairs.

It has two fixed seats that can provide up to 30 seating configurations (including triple!). Both seats have UPF 50+ canopy and peekaboo windows.

Size

The Joovy Kooper X2 is a side-by-side double stroller which can seat two children up to 50 lbs each. Its seats are larger bigger than those of other lightweight double strollers and the canopy comes with nice-sized SPF 50 sunshades with windows that are peekaboo. Other features that are important include a self-standing basket that has a capacity of 25 pounds, cup holders for one parent, and swing-away bars to help kids get in and out of their seats. It's a great choice for suburban and urban families. It also comes with a double kit that includes a newborn wedgie for the perfect lie-flat position.

Weight

The weight of a double buggy is one the key factors that will determine the ease to push. A lighter buggy will be easier to lift and carry but it might not have enough suspension to deal with bumps and uneven terrain.

The majority of double buggies have an upper limit on the weight of each seat, and some have overall frame limits and it's important to know the specifics of each model prior to making a buy. Some models fold with the seats removed, making them smaller and lighter this can be beneficial if storage space is at a premium.

Tri-fold doubles are usually the lightest, since they require only one hand to lift the top and lower sections. They are also narrower than buggies that are side by side and are able to fit through most doorways. The iCandy Geo 3 tri-fold double is among the lighter models available. It can comfortably fit twins or a toddler baby.

Tandem buggies are perfect for families with growing children because they begin as a single stroller and can be adapted to accommodate a second seat such as a car seat or carrycot. Some models, like the iCandy Orange, offer over 30 seating options, so they can grow with your family up to three children. They tend to be heavier than tri-fold doubles. However, they're usually easier to move up and down kerbs thanks to the weight being evenly distributed.

Folding

The most compact double buggies fold up easily in a matter of seconds. This feature is adored by our Lab experts because it allows them to fit the buggies in the back of their cars and save space when they are not in use. For instance the Joovy Kooper X2 has straps on each seat that pull up, and the entire thing folds down -- it's a tri-fold that even our oldest testers could accomplish with just one hand.

The light Delta Children LX side by side is another excellent option for a double buggies. Its lightness is an advantage but also the features it comes with big pop-out canopy that include SPF 50 protection and a the peek-a-boo window; swing-away bars to help youngsters get into and out of seats; and reclining chair and leg rests for young children.

Manoeuvrability

When choosing a small double stroller, you need to consider its maneuverability. This includes the ease for both children to ride in the buggy. Some pushchairs are more efficient than others at this such as the iCandy Orange's "cinema chair" (where the back is elevated).

Narrow tandem buggies can be effective in this regard as can side-byside designs. However, they can be a bit longer overall and so may be tricky to navigate through doors.

The UPPAbaby Vista 2 is an excellent example of this as it's a relatively compact pushchair that allows two seats to be added as well as - importantly - an 'piggyback'-style board that can be used to carry a third child.

Other smaller, three-wheeled models, like the phil&teds Dot, are also extremely agile. This is particularly the case with its clever "dot kit" which transforms it into an inline buggie. It has different seating options for children of varying ages and even allows the front seat to be rotated to face the parents for optimum face-to-face bonding. It comes with an ample storage basket and is easy to fold. It is a great option for growing families!

Comfort

With compact tandem strollers or versatile buggies that can be used side-by-side, parents can monitor both kids while at the park, at the grocery store or any other place. These lightweight doubles can carry two children as much as 50 pounds per seat and come with spacious pop-out canopy, which extends enough to provide real shade, with peekaboo windows and padded leg rests for children to kick back and relax. They also come with convenient cup holders for the seatback that are reversible, as well as one cup holder for parents and a large underseat basket.

If  twin pushchair  with a growing family, you can add the phil&teds double kit your dot buggy to turn it into an inline double, ideal for toddlers and infants alike. The clever 3-wheel design provides the best maneuverability and a simple kerb pop, whilst the Sling seat is a fantastic newborn-friendly option that will allow for a perfect face to face bonding time. As your children grow older, simply swap the sling for an infant car seat adapter and you're ready to go. With a stylish rain cover and travel bag you're set to go on your next adventure!
